I grew up in the Waikato but my wife and I have called Tauranga home since 2014. I have trained and worked here in Tauranga and really love being a part of this city. As a teenager I was always involved in volunteer and youth programs, as connecting with people has always come naturally to me. I am glad to be practicing counselling in Tauranga.
I trained primarily in Narrative Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), as well as an underpinning of 'Client Centered' approach. I have had experience in working with a broad range of issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, anger, and many other complex issues.
I work with people of all ages and backgrounds, providing a safe space for you to be heard, understood, and supported. My goal is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward to where you want to be in your life.
Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience in our lives. Through counseling and treatment, I can help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.
Being young is no simple thing. Youth and young adults face all kinds of complicated challenges that early life throws at them and then some. The growing independence, search of identity and meaning, and increased expectations are all things that every young person goes through on top of everything else in their lives. I have experience in connecting and working with young people to help them navigate these challenging years, assisting them in being who they want to be in life.
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic past or present circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger after post traumatic events. I want to help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing.
